KidsFirst is a free, voluntary in-home visiting program that helps Yorkton families become the best parents they can be and to have the healthiest children possible.
The program focuses on family strengths to enhance:
It is available to those who are prenatal and families with children younger than 36 months.
Families learn about child development in areas such as physical and brain development, communication, and understanding children’s behaviors.
There are four visits per month which are approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour in length. Visits can take place in a family’s home or any other Yorkton community location.
Other program supports available are in-home drug/alcohol support and mental health counselling for those involved in the program.
Kids First is located at the J. Elton Davidge Building, 83 North Street, Yorkton.
