Counselling may be booked online through the province-wide appointment system.
You may make an appointment with the SIGN counsellors, or if they are not available, with qualified counsellors in other Saskatchewan locations. Both in-person and virtual sessions may be booked on the system.
SIGN provides rapid access counselling in partnership with Family Service Saskatchewan, a partnership of 11 provincial agencies providing counselling services.
Where previously those agencies, including SIGN, provided walk-in and call-in counselling services locally, sessions are now also offered in other ways and with a wider network of counsellors. This flexibility allows you to connect with counsellors across Saskatchewan when needed.
We offer quick access to brief mental health services for individuals, couples and families. We can help with concerns such as anxiety, depression, addictions, suicidal ideation, stress, relationship conflict, separation and divorce, domestic violence and parenting.
Our services are priorized for individuals who do not have access to workplace benefits, who live on a fixed or low income, and who would otherwise often experience long waits for publicly funded services.
Rapid access counselling provides mental healthcare in-person or from the comfort of your home.
SIGN's Rapid Access Counselling service was expanded in the fall of 2023 to provide support and counselling specifically for children, youth and their caregivers.
The expanded Rapid Access Counselling specifically for children, youth and their caregivers was introduced in June 2023 in Estevan, Weyburn, Oxbow, Carlyle, Regina and Saskatoon, and is now available in Yorkton and area as part of SIGN's programs.
It provides support and guidance for children and youth ages 6 to 17, as well as caregivers, through counselling services tailored to their specific needs.
It connects children, youth, and caregivers with qualified and licensed counselling professionals promptly and without any complicated screening or eligibility procedures.
SIGN and its partner agencies are committed to making child and youth mental health services more accessible and supporting the well-being of families through trauma-informed approaches.
This program simplifies the process for families to seek care, focusing on prevention, early intervention, and crisis support by reducing wait times, improving system navigation, and introducing online appointment booking.
Counselling can help families navigate a variety of challenges such as behavioural concerns, family conflicts, trauma, grief, anxiety and depression. We can provide your children with a safe space to talk about bullying or other social issues at school.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for children, youth and their caregivers or parents to express themselves, explore their feelings, and work towards positive change.
Our professional counsellors are educated in the counselling and mental health field and are licensed with a professional regulatory body to provide this service.
They offer a collaborative and change-focused conversation that could help you identify solutions, and build on your existing strengths. You’ll leave the session with strategies you can continue using on your own.
Book a session by providing brief information on this secure site. Then choose the appointment time that works for you. You will receive an email confirmation with details about your appointment;
The counsellor or an intake worker will call prior to your appointment, to speak about your upcoming appointment and gain consent for the session;
Counsellors will work with you over a short period of time towards a specific goal determined during your first session. Average number of sessions is three to six.
